Guy Thiessen - Gym Owner / Head Coach

Guy Thiessen has 15 years of teaching gymnastics to a variety of ages and levels, up to and including assistant coach for the University of Michigan women's team in 1994 and 96 with the NCAA collegiate coach of the year. Responsibilities for U of M included setting up and carrying out practice schedules, planning coaching vault, floor exercises and bars, and setting up and managing the summer camp. The 1994 University of Michigan women's team was Big Ten Champions, finished 4th at NCAA Nationals as a team and had the 1995 Uneven Bar Champion. Guy has coached numerous state and National Champions while working full time for Olympia Gymnastics Academy for the last 8 years.

He has a bachelor of Science and Education from Wayne State University , with a major in Physical Education and Exercise Physiology and a minor in biology. Guy is proficient in personal training, strength and conditioning, and is Gymnastic Safety Certified. He has done numerous gymnastics camps and clinics throughout the United States. He was also employed by Bloomfield Hills Schools for 7 years in coaching Varsity Gymnastics and Soccer.

Pat Gunnis - Gym Owner / Head Coach

Patty Gunnis has been coaching for 23 years up to level 10. She has been judging for 15 years and is rated for levels 5-9. Her certifications include: USAG safety for the last 18 years, KAT certification (Kinder Accreditation for Teachers), Level 1-4 skill evaluator, Coaches Accreditation 1 & 2, and Meet Director Certification.

She has had numerous classes at Eastern Michigan University and is only a short number of classes short of her bachelors degree. She had been a owner of Brighton Gymstar since March of 2000.

At Infinity Gymnastics Academy it is our desire to give your children the best trained teacher possible. We require our staff to have the following certifications:

• USAG Safety Certification
• Red Cross CPR and First Aid Training
• USAG Coach's Accreditation Level I & II
• KAT - Kinder Accreditation for Teachers
• PDCP - Prof Dev Cert Prog. Women's Level I-IV Skills Development
